VOLKSWAGENS IN THE VALLEY: June 23-24, 2006

The Club's first full-blown car show went very well for a new event. The weekend's events began on Friday, the 23rd, with a cruise night at Dairy Queen. The next morning started with the car show and swap meet in Downtown Fargo, ND. There were some very nice cars, as well as parts for sale, at the event. It was a close vote and there was a tie for 3rd place but John Gollub of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada won the trophy with his super clean un-restored 1975 Bus. Congratulations John! Unfortunately, storms moved into the area and rumors of baseball sized hail postponed the navigation rally for another day. No hail fell but plenty of rain came down during the evening's cook out in Lindenwood Park. Despite the rain, the cook out lasted until dark.
